Chipotle partners with Cash App to push ‘Guac Mode’


Chipotle Mexican Grill is relaunching Guac Mode, an exclusive benefit for Chipotle Rewards members that unlocks access to free guac rewards throughout the year, according to a company press release.

Through March 31, newcomers and existing rewards members who are not Guac Mode verified can join Guac Mode by visiting When Guac Mode is enabled by Chipotle, members will see an additional reward in the My Rewards sections of their accounts.

To spread the word, the channel is teaming up with Cash App, which allows users to send and receive money at no cost, to launch the $GuacMode Giveaway with $100,000 cash on Twitter. A series of Tweets from both companies encourage fans to sign up for Guac Mode, follow @ChipotleTweets and @CashApp, and drop their $cashtag with #ChipotleGuacMode in response to the tweet for a chance to win some extra cash.

Fans can create a Cash App account for free by downloading Cash App to their mobile device through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

“Since launching Guac mode two years ago, we have distributed more than seven million free guac orders to fans enrolled in the program,” Chipotle CMO Chris Brandt said in the statement. “With surprise guac rewards and extra cash wins, guac mode is an unmissable opportunity for all Chipotle fans.”

27 million members
In addition to Guac mode, Chipotle’s more than 27 million members can earn 10 points for every dollar spent in restaurants, online or in the app.

Chipotle has more than 2,950 restaurants.
